The state of Jammu and Kashmir is divided into three main parts: Jammu, Kashmir valley and Ladakh. The capital city of Ladakh is Leh. Leh is host to beautiful ancient Tibetan monasteries; it attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. Ladakh also has three beautiful lakes. The Kashmir valley is known all over the world for its natural beauty and enchanting locales. It lies in the northern most state of the Indian Republic, Jammu and Kashmir.

The Tsokar Lake is the smallest of all. It lies very close to the Tso Moriri lake and has very much natural beauty. The serene atmosphere and the ice clad mountains surrounding the lake make it a pleasing destination. Birds like black necked cranes, Brahmni ducks, bar-headed geese and the great crested grebe can be spotted here. However the black necked cranes attract a lot of attention as they are rarely found birds. They come to lay their eggs here.
