(1. Perform regular scheduled maintenance - That means taking care of any fluids that may have been neglected while you were out enjoying the summer sun. Check, change and/or top off your oil, brake and transmission fluids as needed and if required, be sure to purchase high-quality filters. Take a look at your car's brakes, too. Are the rotors warped or cracked? Do they have deep grooves or are the pads worn close to their minimum clearance? Don’t forget to check your lights and make sure they are all working properly. Lastly, check your wiper blades and replace them as necessary.  ( 2. Give attention to your cars’ interior - Take time to clean the interior of your car before you head off to grandma's house for pumpkin pie. Purchase some all-weather floor mats. They’re easy to clean and will keep your carpets clean. Removing any unnecessary items from the trunk and backseat will help with your vehicle’s fuel economy and make room for all your suitcases, and gifts too! Making sure your windows are clean will reduce the likelihood of steamy glass and increase your driving visibility.  ( 3.   Don’t drive on the wrong tires -  Have the air pressure checked in your tires, and have them rotated and inspected for abnormal wear.  If you are headed to snowy locales, check out snow tires or traction devises. (4. Inspect the Cooling System - This means having your car’s radiator pressure tested and the hoses examined for cracks or bulges.  Have the coolant levels checked and replaced if the antifreeze is not at the recommended level.  This is especially important when driving in sub-freezing weather conditions.
