If you can't search online, then call your secretary of state's office and ask for the articles of incorporation. You can use the Articles of Incorporation that you find to verify how long your moving company has been in business, as well as the company's address and owner's name.With planning and research, you should have no trouble finding a reliable, reputable moving company in your area. While much of the responsibility of consumer protection rests on your own shoulders, there are actions that you can take if you encounter a problem. Always contact the company first and give them a chance to fix the problem. Explain the trouble you are having clearly and state the action that you expect from them. Therefore this will help you decide your budget and how much you need to spend in the process of moving. You should not be charged anything extra if you have mentioned everything on the quote. Also another important factor to note is if the movers have storage for your goods. This is important especially if you are making a long distance movers.
