BlackBerry PlayBook and mobile Flash

As everyone knows, Apple fans will never get real Adobe Flash support on their mobile browsers, and Android has historically struggled to make Flash perform well.  However, there’s a mobile platform that loves Flash - the BlackBerry PlayBook - and it’s out now!

So why would you want to get the PlayBook for Flash compatibility? Well, firstly, it allows you to view the wealth of video content on the internet as it was meant to be seen, in the page - you don’t have to hope it’s on YouTube, or save the file to run in a  separate player app, you can just follow links. Video is just as convenient as it is on your desktop.

There are also a lot of sites out there built entirely in Flash, both sites presenting streaming media, and many companies who produce creative content of any sort, have a tendency to build Flash-driven websites. You’d have no chance of getting much out of these with most tablets or phones on the market, but Playbook handles them perfectly, just like a powerful netbook.

And, of course, Flash games are one of the fastest growing sectors of the gaming industry - I’m sure that most people reading this article have a favourite Flash game, whether it’s Farmville, Bejeweled, or something else. Well, you’re in luck - PlayBook is powerful enough to deal with high-end Flash games without missing a beat. Keep scoring while you’re on the move with BlackBerry PlayBook!

As you can see, PlayBook is the best option if you need a tablet that can take full advantage of the Flash internet. A CNET PlayBook review suggests: "PlayBook’s browser finally makes good on the iPad’s promise to put the whole Web in your hands".

Flash on the PlayBook is at version 10.3 as of PlayBook’s 1.0.6 OS update, so make sure you upgrade!
